Howard University Journal of African Studies (HUJAS)

Aims & Scope

The Howard University Journal of African Studies (HUJAS) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Department of African Studies at Howard University. HUJAS is dedicated to publishing the highest-quality research and scholarship centred primarily on Africa and including the Global African Diaspora (GAD).

The journal invites original works pertinent to the discovery and production of research-generated knowledge on Africa and the GAD in all relevant disciplines, including but not limited to political science, history, sociology, anthropology, linguistics, literature, philosophy, education, public health, and communication studies.

HUJAS employs a double-blind peer review process. Submissions and publications are free of charge.
