Abstract
The Wayne E. Jackson Photograph Collection houses photographs taken by Wayne E. Jackson, former photo editor for the Hilltop during the 1980's. The collection has 38 images grouped into these series: Bomb Threats, Commencement/Graduation, Construction, Greek Life, Miss Howard University, Performances, President James Cheek with Others, Protests, Speakers, and Sports. As former Hilltop editor, Jackson's photographs reflect events happening on Howard University's campus. Included in this collection are images of Thurgood Marshall, Debbie Allen, Geraldine P. Woods, Lerone Bennett Jr., Eldridge Cleaver, former mayor Marion Barry, first director of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center Michael Winston, various Howard students, and others involved in matters at Howard University.
