Abstract
The jet gun used in this study is effective in administering a topical anesthetic as a prelude to infiltration anesthesia in the middle and anterior superior alveolar nerve site areas. The recommended time between administration of topical anesthetic by means of the jet gun and the syringe injection should be 2 minutes or longer. Problems of sterilization, acceptance by the patient, and flexibility of the instrument are distinct disadvantages. © 1972.
