Historic Howard Images

Howard University, also affectionately known as the “Capstone” and the “Mecca”, has hosted and in some cases educated, some of the most important figures in world history. Since 1867, the University has played a major role in African American life and American history. In this collection, images from this incredible history are presented. They included images of important figures in Howard history, visitors, the campus and students. Photographs can be accessed through the search feature located on the left of the screen or by browsing through the gallery below.
