Abstract

The Emory Warren Ross Photograph Collections consists of 14 photographs of Liberia and the Belgian Congo during the Disciplines of Christ missions by the missionary, Rev. Dr. Emory Warren Ross. Due to the size of the collection, it was split into two series representing the two missions in which he worked. Series A covers Rev. Dr. Ross' time in Liberia where he provided aid from 1912-1916. The majority of the photographs found in this collection are from his time in Liberia. Series B, which only contains two photographs, are from his time spent in the Belgian Congo, which he visited briefly from 1915-1916 and spend many years afterwards, (1917-1933) further assisting Africans during the Disciples of Christ Congo Mission.
