Abstract

The papers of Dorothy Boulding Ferebee (1898-1980), physician, administrator, and activist, cover the time period from 1919-1980. Dr. Ferebee served as a professor of obstetrics at the Howard University Medical School and as Director of Howard University's Health Services, while she maintained her private medical practice. The collection includes correspondence, speeches and writings by Dr. Ferebee, and materials from various professional organizations. There are approximately 17 linear feet of material. The papers were deposited at Moorland-Spingarn in 1980 by Carol Ferebee, wife of Dr. Ferebee's son Claude.
