Abstract
The Papers of J. Clay Smith (1942-), law professor, historian and civil servant, cover the years 1954-2006 (bulk 1978-2002). Smith corresponded widely with friends and acquaintances. His general correspondence (21.5 linear feet) contains not only letters and emails with such individuals but also the records of some of the voluntary organizations and associations with which he was involved and arrangements relating to his many speaking engagements.
