Description

President Richard M. Nixon's Oval Office was the Scene of the swearing-in ceremony for Marina von Neumann Whitman, the first women ever named by a President to the Council of Economic Advisers. Her husband, Dr. Robert Whitman, holds the bible used for the ceremony, and to the right is Judge Paul F. McArdle, Associate Judge, Superior Court, DC, who presided at the ceremony.
