Description

Mrs. Douglas H. MacNeil, National President of Girl Scouts of the USA, left, stands beside an original oil painting used to illustrate Girl Scouting in the nationwide "Help Young America" campaign. The picture and a $20,000 check were presented by the Colgate-Palmolive Co. to Mrs. MacNeil for Girl Scouts are the November 22nd campaign kickoff ceremonies in Washington D.C. Other national board members and council presidents present at the event were, left to right, Mrs. H. Edmund Lunken, First Vice President (Cincinnati, Ohio), Mrs. Orville L. Freeman (New York City), Mrs. William Oakerson, President Tropical Florida Council (Miami), Dr. Dorothy B. Ferebee, Washington D. C. , Mrs. Crosby S. Noyes, President, National's Capital Council and Girl Scout National Executive Director, Miss Louise A. Wood.
