    The brawny right arm with the rescue line represents life to these U.S. Coast Guardsman, exhausted after struggling 17 hours in storm toss seas following the loss of their vessel. They are survivors of the Coast Guard patrol vessel WILCOX, which foundered off the east coast in September 1943.
