Description
Navigation cadets at Hondo Air Field, Hondo, Tex., learn the vital necessity for teamwork as they fly training hope totaling mora than 15,000 miles. Here three negro cadets get their heads together over a map tacked to a table aboard a Lockheed Lodestar, powerful twin-engined training ship. This is just before takeoff. When the ship is airborne, each man is on his own and must work out the navigation problem given him without assistance from his buddies. Checking pilotage points on the map (pilotage is navigation by reference to familiar landmarks on the earth below), the Negro cadets are left to right: Aviation Student Wendell R.
