Abstract

In 2008 then senator Barack Obama did what many said was impossible. He campaigned on change and united a group of minority, independent and disenchanted status quo voters who ushered him into office making him the Nation’s first African-American President. Like most two-term Presidents his first fours years were spotty. He saw political victories but also many challenges, including an economy that has proven harder to turn around than he imagined.
