Published in Omaha, Nebraska, from 1893 to 1899, the Afro-American Sentinel was a Black-owned weekly newspaper edited by civil rights advocate Cyrus D. Bell. The paper covered African American community life, politics, religion, and civil rights while exposing racial discrimination in Nebraska.
