Description
This church was founded in 1903 as New Bethel Baptist Church, and under the leadership of its second pastor, the name was changed to Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. Under the leadership of the third pastor, the name was changed back to Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. The site of the church in this photo - 9th & S Streets, NW - was purchased from the Grace M.E. Church in February of 1915.
