Notes: Author, columnist. Consists of scrapbooks about the citizens of Washington, D.C., and the deep South. Contains clippings about race relations, politics, and foreign affairs, pictures of prominent Negroes, programs, letters,and articles from his columns in the Guardian (Boston, MA). Also includes Clarke's manuscript, "Virginia's Contribution to the Republic" and biographical data about Clarke.
