Who Can Submit?

Anyone may submit an original article, book review or performance review to be considered for publication in Continuum: The Journal of African Diaspora Drama, Theatre and Performance provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer). All articles and reviews have a two step peer review process.

Articles generally run from 6250 to 6500 words. Articles are reviewed by members of our editorial board. Each essay will be reviewed by no more than two readers; if these readers disagree on publication, the executive editor will make the final decision. Authors who receive a report to “Revise and Resubmit” are strongly encouraged to do so with the guidance of the review editor(s).
