The papers of lawyer, civil rights activist, and former Howard University Law School Dean, Wiley A. Branton (1923-1988) span the period of 1946-1989 and measure approximately 7 1/2 linear feet. Correspondence comprises the bulk of the collection and includes notables such as Daisy Bates, John Hope Franklin, Vernon Jordan, Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King,, Jr., Benjamin Mays, Walter White, and Roy Wilkins.
